- I understand there are some people working on a browser for the C
- 64/128. That
- is really great for us, but I would like to maybe suggest another tact
- in
- solving the problem of a web browser for us C-64 users.
-
- There is a program out for the PC (yech!) called I-comm. It is a
- browser that
- does not require Slip or PPP to run. Matter of fact all you need is a
- freenet account that gets you prompt services i.e. you can run Pine or
- Pico or
- you can use lynx. It has two sides, a browser side that acts just like
- Mosaic or Netscape and a terminal side that acts just like a regurlar
- term
- program and you can klick back and forth by a little switch. If I
- understand
- it correctly it makes use of the SZ an RZ commands quite abit as well
- as you
- can use LYNX or WWW or its own host side program called icommhost.exe.

- This is not an advertisement for this program, however it is a question
- as to
- if this is possible or not on a commodore 64/128 running in geos. We
- could
- have it load up the images in black and white and maybe ignore the
- backgrounds. I just was wondering if we could do this. I am not much
- of a
- programmer anymore so I wouldn't want to attempt a project like this.
- Maybe
- Maurice Randall could try? I know he is swamped up to his eyeballs
- bringing us
- great stuffbut he has done alot of the groundwork that needs to
- happen....or
- maybe Nick Rossi. Say has anyone talked to him lately? I was on his
- Novaterm
- 9.6 beta test team but I haven't heard from him in a while. Any way
- thanks
- for listening to me ramble. If you have any comments please Email me.
-
- Thanks,
